with the latter site, you have to Jump to the city you want first

It%26#39;s too difficult for you to use imo. You have to know where everything is already. You must know what the cross streets are for your west 25 st address (ie 25 st between 6th %26amp; 7th). YOu have to know where Times Square is.

If you want to try, select US, then to the right of it select NY from the drop down menu (NY State) then type in New York City and select 0 zoom and click go. That puts you at 73-8- st on Columbus ave. You then have to know where to go from there. Every time you double click it%26#39;s supposed to give you the distance. I never got that far.

Sorry, you type New York (not city). Anyway, I find mapquest.com a lot easier but not ideal. There you get driving directions, not walking, but it still gives you an idea of map and distance but you must have an address or cross streets. ';Times Square'; won%26#39;t work. I used 1515 Broadway which is an address I happen to know is at Times Square. They often give you an option of 2 addresses (like they did with 1515 Broadway). Pick the one in New York, NY. The other one is often in Brooklyn. ;)

Now, if you find 42nd and 7th Avenue, and double click that, it should tell you that it is about 0.8 miles.

One other site to try that would understand ';Times Square'; is

Just tell it that you want to walk only, and it will give turn by turn directions with an estimated time and milage.

I am going to be in New York 1/4 and am mapping out walking directions. The best I have found is www.hotstop.com. In addition to actual walking distances, it has info on the subway and buses
