At end of February the temperature will be a high of 6 C during the day ans a low of -1 C at night. To walk to Bloomingdale%26#39;s and to TOTR will be less than 10 minutes for each one from your hotel. However they are in two different directions. Bloomingdale%26#39;s is directly north and TOTR is directly west.

menupages.com is a good website for restaurants. To find places near your hotel, look at the east 50s. PJ Clarke%26#39;s is not far and is a historic ';saloon'; with a big bar in front, a nice rustic dining room in back good for burgers etc. and a fancier newer dining room upstairs.

2 good French places nearby with good fixed price dinners are Le Medterranee and Le Mangeoire.

Mimi%26#39;s is an Italian place with good pizza, pasta etc. and live piano on certain nights on 2nd ave. %26amp; 52 st. It%26#39;s not listed on menuppages.com Here%26#39;s some info

If you like mussels, Jubilee on 54 st b/w 1st %26amp; 2nd aves. is great. Small neighborhood place.

Bloomingdale%26#39;s is also on Lexington Avenue, at 59th Street, so it is an eight block walk (about 3/8 mile).

The GE Building where the Top of the Rock is located is between 49th and 50th Streets, midway between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Walk down Lexington to 50th Street and turn right. You continue along 50th past Park Avenue (St. Bart%26#39;s will be on your right) Madison Avenue (the Palace Hotel), and to Fifth Avenue (past the Cardinal%26#39;s house and St. Pat%26#39;s.) Across Fifth Avenue from the middle of Sak%26#39;s on your left is the Rockefeller Center promenade, or %26#39;channel gardens%26#39;, and the GE Building is directly ahead, behind the skating rink and the statue of Prometheus. (The distance is about the same as that to Bloomingdale%26#39;s.)
