Hi Folks,
Visiting New York for the first time in March 2006. Been reviewing hotels for a while but the Sofitel New York seems to be miles ahead of any other hotel and the price seems reasonable. Just looking for some comments from either locals or people who have stayed there?.
Cheers folks
Sofitel New York
It%26#39;s a lovely hotel in a great location but it%26#39;s small-ish and doesn%26#39;t have a big bar or lobby. As long as you don%26#39;t want a lot of action in the hotel, it%26#39;s a good choice. There are a number of other hotels %26amp; restaurants on the same street that do have more activity.
Another lovely hotel in the general area is the Michelangelo.
What specifically are you looking for?
Sofitel New York
Just returned from sofitel, it is really nice the room and ensuite are fabulous! It is a very business orientated hotel though. If you dont mind being a bit conspicuous as a tourist and as nywhiz said the lobby and bar is quiet but then you may not be planning to hang around there too much anyway!
Hi BergamoTraveller
We are also a couple in our twenties from Scotland who will be staying at the Sofitel in New York in March 2006. Will you be there for the St Patricks Day celebrations? You should visit the Sofitel website and apply for a loyalty card as this entitles you to a late check out and other benefits that I can%26#39;t remember off the top of my head. Hope you enjoy your holiday ! :)
You won%26#39;t be disappointed with the hotel we stayed in October and found it in an excellet location and felt it was grand compared to other hotels in immediate area.
Good place to eat for value price and portion is Red Flame diner which is just 5 doors away.
Enjoy!
Saw a really good rate for the sofitel today, it quoted about 鈧?05 per night which was almost 鈧?00 than on some sites. Those prices were on www.hotels.com
