best resaurant for sisters birthday party

sry by accident i put this topic in the north creek forum for some reason...i dont know why..anyway:

Hi! my sister is turning 14 in Feb. and would like to take a group of her friends to a fun restaurant in the city...we live on long island and i think my dad might hire a limio to take her friend in and including our family..i dont know about the limo part yet..this is what i have in mind for resturant ideas and what she had agreed on so far:

-planet hollywood

-hard rock cafe

-mars 2112 (we were just there yesterday..liked the atmosphere but really didnt care for the food...or the 2+ hr. wait)

-jekyll and hyde

she needs a fun place with a decent menu that her friends will have something they will like...b/c some of her friends are picky eaters..

i hope some1 can give me some other suggestions and some feedback on the restaurants i chose! thanks in advanced!

Hi - I have a just-turned 15-year old daughter so maybe I can help out a bit...

Stay away from Jekyll %26amp; Hyde - when my daughter was 13 she thought this the stupidest place on the face of the earth ;-)

You%26#39;ve alreday come up with the answer for Mars 2112 - stay away!

There%26#39;s nothing wrong with either Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood - but I%26#39;ll bet the waits will be long.

I%26#39;d also recommend Ellen%26#39;s Stardust Diner, John%26#39;s Pizzeria or ESPN Zone as well as Virgil%26#39;s BBQ.

You should Google all of these to get a feel for them - Ellen%26#39;s has a singing waitstaff and they can sing Happy Birthday to your sister!

Good luck with your search.

I%26#39;ll add Ruby Foo%26#39;s, it can be fun for young teens.

Another fun place is The Cowgirl Hall of Fame in the West Village at 519 Hudson St. Southweatern and Tex/Mex food in a funky hip atmosphere.

Thanks for all of the advice! i think more than likely shes going to be between hard rock and planet hollywood...we have been to hard rock plenty of times b/c we go to st. thomas every year and before it closed down last yr, we always made a stop to eat there...anyway i think she might want to try planet hollywood b/c she has never been there before..i have (not the one in the city but the one in washington d.c. on a class trip) but since i was on a class trip they limited the menu and i didnt like it...i kno the waiting time wont be long b/c i know she is inviting between 15-20ish people and every place you go to, they take reservations for large parties...if you had to choose between hard rock and planet hollywood, what would you choose? Thanks again!

Helen
