Hello,
Are there any BA greeters on this forum?
I have applied for a BAG. We%26#39;re coming to NY in April. When can we expect to know if we are gone get someone or not?
What can we expect from a BAG? I didn%26#39;t ask to visit a particular neighborhood. What places do they take people to?
Thanks!
BAG question
Hi:
I am a greeter, and I can tell you that sometimes you hear right away, or sometimes you can hear right before your trip.
We take people to specific areas if requested, sometimes we just show newcomers the ropes, ie: using the subways %26amp; buses, just making people comfortable in order for their experience in the city to be better.
Some are Central Part experts, some are Harlem experts, some do Greenwich Village, I do Brooklyn, basically, but will do parts of lower Manhattan, too. Some go to Queens or the Bronx, it all depends. Generally, we try to take people to less ';touristy'; areas to get a better feel for the real NY. You don%26#39;t need us to visit a museum of to up the top of the ESB.
In any event, it is a great, free service, that has expanded to other cities, such as Chicago %26amp; Melbourne %26amp; Adelaide, Australia.
