Wondering about what new shows there will be to see when you visit? Here%26#39;s a few new things coming up.
2/23 The Pajama Game with Harry Connick, Jr. opens
3/12 Ring of Fire, featuring 38 Johnny Cash songs
4/13 Lestat, with Anne Rice vampire themes, Elton John music, Bernie Taupin lyrics. Could be bloody good.
4/20 Look out old Mack is back...The Threepenny Opera opens, starring a wild cast including Alan Cumming, Jim Dale, Ana Gasteyer, and Cyndi Lauper.
5/10 Tarzan, featuring the music from Phil Collins. Likely to be a big family hit. I can%26#39;t get the theme song to an old cartoon out of my head.... George George George of the jungle...
And be on the lookout for:
3/16 Alec Baldwin opens off Broadway in Entertaining Mr. Sloane
4/19 Julia Roberts makes her Broadway debut in Three Days of Rain
4/20 For all you Friends fans: David Schwimmer will appear in The Caine Mutiny.
A friend of mine and I and our daughters, recently saw The Color Purple and the Sweeney Todd revival. Consensus--- We all loved The Color Purple and thought it delivered on the music, singing and acting.
Sweeney Todd-I was the only one who loved it, the others felt it was odd, but liked it. But then I was the only one in the group who saw the original with Angela Lansbury, and could make a comparison. I found the new version to be very courageous and clever and to me it really worked.
Enjoy!
Coming to Broadway in 2006
Also, there is going to be a revival of THE CAINE MUTINY, starring David Schwimmer (as Lt. Greenwald) and Zeljko Ivanek (as Captain Queeg). Scheduled opening is May 7, with previews starting in April.
I am very much looking forward to seeing LESTAT. Unless it%26#39;s somehow hugely botched it should be fantastic.

Oops, you did mention THE CAINE MUTINY. Sorry!
