Must see/do for 12 year old girl

Leaving for NYC in 2 days with my (almost) 12 year old daughter.

What would you say is the don%26#39;t miss place/shopping/eating/site experience for a young girl?

I just spent four days in NYC with my eight year old daughter. She loved Chinatown! Lots of shops with little things girls love to buy. Cheap wallets, purses. jewelry, belts etc.

Empire State building, esp. with new king kong movie out.

oh and the 4th floor of macys total kids fashion experience complete with loud music and flashing lights, but if she%26#39;s a ';young'; 12 year old then skip it.

It will be VERY crowded everywhere, especially around Times Square. But no trip to NYC with a 12-year-old would be complete without seeing this great site. The Toys R Us store there is another must.

Be sure that your daughter knows the name and address (with cross streets) of your hotel. (Tuck a business card or brochure from the hotel in her coat pocket.) Be sure she has enough money to take a taxi back to the hotel, in case you get separated in the crowds. We always had a rule in my family that, if separated, you go back to the last place you saw each other. But, you need a fail-safe back-up plan in case something goes wrong.
