New York taxis??

Four - three in back, and 1 in front. Kids can ride on laps.

You%26#39;re OK.

New York taxis??

I just did this last week with four people. Just like the previous poster said, one in the front and three in the back.

Taxis in NYC are regulated by the Taxi and Limousine commission, This is from the Taxi and Limousine Commission%26#39;s website:

';From Driver Rule 2-43a:

The maximum amount of passengers allowed in a yellow taxicab by law is FIVE people including the driver. An additional passenger must be accepted if such passenger is under the age of seven (7) and is held on the lap of an adult passenger seated in the rear.';

Note that this means the driver must accept a maximum of four adults PLUS one child under the age of 7.

You%26#39;ll be fine.....just take care to hold the three year old tightly, as many drivers are forced, by other drivers, to drive like lunatics.....including the possibility of many sudden moves.

A small child could go flying, while adults would simply ';hang on.';

Travel safely,

Joe in NYC
