Ruby Foo's for NYE in NYC

Hi my husband and I are flying to NY on Dec. 30th and at first thought of doing the Time Square deal, but after reading all the info here and there (incl. weather forecast) we%26#39;ve decided it may be better to go to a restaurant/hotel....trying to stay within our budget, we found Ruby Foo%26#39;s which was recommended by a friend. They are having a DJ, and nice meal (their menu is in their web site) and they let you go out for 15 min. at midnight to try to get near the ball drop and then come back to the restaurant. Any comments about this place? We would be paying $125 per person, and I don%26#39;t want to end up paying the same amount as in any other place, to then realized we could have gone to a nicer, trendier place...thanks! and Happy New Year

Since we live two blocks from Times Square, my beloved and I always opt for a quiet night at home on New Year%26#39;s Eve, so I don%26#39;t know how the $125 tab at Ruby Foo%26#39;s measures up against other places, but it seems pretty reasonable.

The restaurant is very popular and it is fun, and it%26#39;s also one of the handful of Times Square places where New Yorkers actually go. All in all, it sounds like a swell bet for New Year%26#39;s Eve.
