lion king at new amsterdam theatre

Has anybody been to the lion king at the above theatre and sat in the balcony on the $60 seats?

Can you see and hear everything? I am in two minds. I am not big on shows but am thinking about seeing one with the family just so we can say that we%26#39;ve been to broadway! Hence don%26#39;t want to spend a fortune on tickets.

Then this is not the show to see. There are plenty of other shows that are regularly available with discount codes. Go to broadwaybox.com Hairspray is currently avail. for $55. Dirty Rotten Scoudrels is fun and may also be available.

If YOU%26#39;RE not a fan of shows, don%26#39;t go and save the money and send the rest of the family.

I absolutely loved this show!!!!

mel I wasn%26#39;t suggeting it%26#39;s not good. Merely suggesting if the poster doesn%26#39;t want to spend too much money, there are cheaper options. Also, the Lion King is not your typical Broadway show (for better or worse) and many men who are not big theater fans really didn%26#39;t like Lion King with the puppets.

thanks for the heads up NY whiz. Think i might send the family and have a couple of beers whilst their watching the show. Any one here is welcome to join me.

Even so, are the balcony seats at the back any good? They really want to see lion king and I really dont want to fork out $200 for the premium tickets.

Also anyone been to the sales? any good? Will they still be on 6th Jan?

One more thing... The rocafella tree stays up until 6th December. Does that mean it will be taken down on the 7th and remain up all night on the 6th? I may have to view it as soon as I land.

Cheers. This is a very good forum!!

I%26#39;m normally a cheap seats kind of person and I go to a lot of shows...but for the Lion King,I think you will enjoy it more if you are in the Orchestra. The opening parade is a major part of the show and it%26#39;s just a lot better from Orchestra seats-you don%26#39;t have to be up front necessarily, just on the ground floor.

Or there%26#39;s always standing room!
