Beacon Hotel or Milburn in NYC?

Considering staying at one of these hotels on Upper West Side. I understand Beacon may be dearer but can anyone compare the two ? Would be two adults , no children. Thanks for your help.

Beacon Hotel or Milburn in NYC?

They%26#39;re very similar and about a block away from each other. Both have large rooms, most with kitchenettes. Both are reported to be a bit frayed around the edges. I once read someone who%26#39;d stayed at both actually preferred the Milburn. In fact, at the bottom of the first page of reviews here

there%26#39;s someone who says the Beacon was full so they picked the Milburn and won%26#39;t be going back to the Beacon. I%26#39;d say maybe the only major difference is the Beacon is ON Broadway, a big wide busy street and the Milburn faces 76 st, a side street. So the Milburn may be a bit quieter, especially if you face the front.

If you don%26#39;t need a kitchen, you might want to also compare the Excelsior and the Lucerne, both in the same neighborhood.
